Laboratory Name: Choice Laboratory Services
The ideal candidate:
1. Will have earned a Bachelor of Science in a Life Science, preferably
Toxicology, Forensic Toxicology or Chemistry plus a minimum of 1 year experience in a clinical or forensic laboratory environment.
2. Have experience with isolation and identification of drugs and intoxicants
by GC/MS and LC/MSMS. Experience with Beckman Au analyzer, Waters AcQuity and Agilent 5975 systems preferred.
3. Have experience researching, developing, troubleshooting and validating
methods for various analytes using modern LC/MSMS, GC/MS and GC instrumentation.
4. Have an excellent knowledge of the pharmacokinetics of the various drugs
and intoxicants.
5. Be willing to be flexible with the hours worked. This potentially could
be a Tuesday through Saturday position, possibly “second shift”.
6. Possess excellent phone and communication skills. Discussing results with
clients is a critical service offered
7. Be able to work, once properly trained, with minimum supervision, in other
words, be a self starter.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Maintenance and troubleshooting of the analytical systems.
2. Loading and running the analytical systems.
3. Reviewing the data and approving the results.
4. Perform the Toxicologist’s Review or Summary as needed for each sample.
5. Discuss results with clients in terms they can understand.
6. Assist with researching, developing and validating assays, including the
semi-annual validations as required.
7. Perform the patient run assay set up.
8. Must be proficient with various software platforms including but not
limited to Waters Mass-Lynx and Agilent Chemstation/Drug Quant Version EA.
9. Must be willing and able to remotely monitor instruments during assigned
times. (Constant monitoring not needed, just occasional monitoring).
10. Assisting other areas as needs dictate.
The organization is located in Dallas, TX. We are looking for a local candidate but would not rule out a non-local candidate. However, relocation expenses will not be reimbursed.
