Job Opening – Clinical Laboratory Technologist/Technician
Job Description
Under the supervision of a Laboratory Director or Senior Toxicologist performs routine, moderately complex laboratory tests including sample preparation/extraction of various analytes from biological specimens., immunoassay screening, LC/MSMS conformational tsting.
Essential Position Duties
• Performs sample extraction techniques including solid phase extraction
and liquid-liquid extraction
• Prepares samples for gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and
liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS-MS) analysis
• Prepares reagents and buffers required for sample preparation tests
• Operation of LC/MSMS instrumentation.
• Operation of chemistry analyzers
• Assists with maintaining an adequate inventory of laboratory supplies
• Troubleshoots problems as needed
• Performs other tasks and procedures that are commensurate with education,
training and abilities
• Responsible for all record-keeping associated with specimen processing
Job Requirements
Professional Experience/Education Requirements
• Minimum Associates degree with MLT certification required. Bachelors’
degree preferred
• 0-2 years experience working in an analytical laboratory preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Certification/Licensure
• Must be licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist/Technician under
New York State Department of Education regulations.
