Ammon Analytical Laboratory, LLC, has an immediate opening for a Laboratory Assistant in the clinical department.  The laboratory is accredited by CAP and NYS Department of Health to perform forensic and clinical toxicology testing.  Ammon offers a great benefits package and competitive salary.  The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and results driven.

 

This position is part-time 12:00 pm till 6:00 pm, Monday – Friday.

 

 

Laboratory Assitant

 

Qualifications:

 

High School Graduate or Equivalent

 

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Specimen processing, preparing for analysis

 

Ability to read and comprehend testing samples information

 

Ability to follow laboratory SOPM

 

Understanding of laboratory quality control and assurance

 

Knowledge of general laboratory safety issues and universal precautions

 

General Functions:

 

Under the direction of appropriate professional staff, perform waived and moderately complex laboratory procedures

 

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Performs routine laboratory assistant duties according to agency standards and protocol(s)

 

Assists technologists and technicians with the operation of standard laboratory instruments

 

Perform specimen or reception, checks and records information into LIS

 

Reviews and accessions testing orders testing orders for laboratory analysis

 

Perform storage of specimens after testing and properly discard according to SOPM

 

Cleans laboratory facility after completion of work for the day

 

Maintains a safe environment in the laboratory

 

Performs tasks as requested by laboratory management

 

Reports to Clinical Supervisor
