The following responsibilities are assigned to the analyst personnel; responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and for reporting test results, and should only perform tose tests that are authorized by the laboratory director and that are within the individual's skill level as determined by education, training or experience, and technical abilities.

Testing personnel must:

1. Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient results.

2.  Maintain records which demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.

3.  Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies and documenting all QC activities, instrument and procedral calibrations, and instrument maintenance.

4.  Follw the laboratory's policies whenever test systems are not within the laboratory'sestablished acceptable levels of performance.

5.  Be able to identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problem or notify the appropriate supervisor.

6. Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications 7. Only perform high complexity testing under the on-site direct supervsion of a general supervisor, if required by personnel qualification requirements.
