Avertest provides breath alcohol testing, urine collections and drugs of abuse screening services to judicial programs, DOT regulated businesses and workplace clients. We are seeking a qualified clinical laboratory scientist or medical laboratory technician to support our lab techs. This individual will be located in Nashville, TN.
Job Description:
-Perform weekly calibration of immunoassay analyzers -Perform daily controls of immunoassay analyzers -Perform urinalysis screens for drugs of abuse utilizing immunoassay analyzers -Interpret confirmation test results from third-party laboratories -Work with Lab Director as resource for lab staff to:
(1) Monitor and evaluate the calibration and control results from multiple analyzers
(2) Provide technical support to lab staff regarding results of calibration and controls
(3) Answer questions regarding cross-reactivity of individual assays in screening for specific drugs
(4) Evaluate developing technology, i.e. perform analyses of third party reagents or screening technology and provide recommendations regarding effectiveness -Work with Lab Director and Training & Quality Control team to ensure lab staff are following proper policies and procedures
Qualifications:
-A bachelor’s or associate’s degree in laboratory sciences from an accredited institution is preferred – or – a bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution is acceptable -Experience with urinalysis -Experience with screening for drugs of abuse is preferred -A high level of attention to detail and ability to communicate in a timely manner -Comfort utilizing a laboratory information system (L.I.S.) -Willingness to travel 20% of the time -We are open to part time applicants and can provide flexible schedules
-Salary: $42,000 base salary
