The Experimental Design and Impact on Toxicology (EDIT) Award recognizes outstanding research published in the annual SOFT Special Issue of the Journal of Analytical Toxicology (JAT).
Administered by the SOFT Publications Committee, the award honors research distinguished by its experimental design or its impact on forensic toxicology.
2026 Recipient
Sue Pearring
Characterization of Postmortem GHB and a Novel Model to Discern Exogenous Use
How Are Papers Considered?
Eligible research articles accepted for publication in the SOFT Special Issue of JAT are considered for the EDIT Award. There is no separate award application.
Eligibility
-
The article must be accepted for publication in the SOFT Special Issue of JAT.
-
The first author must be a SOFT member.
-
Case reports and review articles are not eligible.
Authors interested in contributing to a future Special Issue should follow the submission instructions and deadlines announced for that issue.
Selection and Recognition
The Publications Committee reviews eligible manuscripts and selects the article demonstrating the strongest experimental design or greatest impact on forensic toxicology.
The award is presented to the first author of the selected paper and consists of a commemorative plaque. There is no monetary component.
The committee may elect not to present an award if no manuscript meets the award’s intent.
