YFT Symposium and Professional Development Fair

Symposium: Join us for a night of professional networking designed for younger toxicologists. Enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres while you connect with peers in your field. This event is exclusively for attendees aged 41 and under. Sign-in will be at the door.

Professional Development Fair: Representatives from various accreditation and certifying agencies, graduate programs, and laboratories will be available to discuss opportunities for continuing education, professional training, board certification, academic advancement, and career opportunities, including scientific writing.

If you would like to participate as a representative, please complete our Reservation Form by September 20. A Table with two chairs will be provided to each representative. 


Student Enrichment Program

Monday, October 28, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

This day-long program is designed to introduce high school students to the world of Forensic Toxicology. Students will learn about various disciplines within forensic toxicology, what knowledge and skills are necessary for this career path and participate in hands-on activities all taught by practicing forensic toxicologists. Lunch will be provided for participating students. Local high school students can participate with an accepted application.

Leo Dal Cortivo Award

The Leo Dal Cortivo Memorial Fund allows the Young Forensic Toxicologists committee to present two awards, each with a cash prize of $1,000 in addition to free registration at a future SOFT meeting so they may present their research. One award will be presented to the Best Poster Presentation and the other for the Best Platform Presentation.

The 2024 recipients of the Leo Dal Cortivo Award will be announced at the President Yeatman's Skull and Crossbones Banquet on Thursday, October 31.
